The healthcare profession is undoubtedly one of the most important sectors that there is around. At times, it can be squeamish and difficult but these obstacles are matched by the joy and happiness that we can provide our patients with.
If you know somebody who is a doctor or a nurse working in a hospital, this can be one of the most challenging and difficult jobs that they can do. They have to tend to their patients with extreme care and the responsibility can be sometimes slightly overwhelming. Imagine the immense pressure they must feel when giving a diagnosis. Is it even worth thinking about? Seeing a person in a critical state can also be a bit too much but this is part and parcel of the job. This is what they are paid for and they have to deal with it. But this is a happy post. The benefits of this can be incredible. There have been stories circulated around the web as well as through word of mouth on the street, of patients fighting their once terminal illnesses with pride and passion and recovering. And for this, these doctors and nurses have been lauded and quite rightly so. If it wasn’t for them, the world would be one person less.
For a person who works for a company that specializes in home care, again there are plenty of stories to warm the deepest cockles of your heart. Being around an elderly person in their latter years of life gives them something to hold on to. Something to look forward to. It may just seem a job on paper, but in reality it’s much much more. It’s a deep friendship and you will soon start to feel part of the family. The experiences which will be shared by your new elderly best friend will play with your emotions, whether they make you, laugh, cry or sing, these are memories that certainly won’t be forgotten.
Being a dentist can also leave them with a beaming smile. Think about the advice that they supply daily. Whether it be regarding fillings, braces or even crowns, these patients have listened attentively and will strive to keep their teeth healthy and white. The next time they see them, there’ll be a transformation and it was all down to those great tips that were given. That special brand of toothpaste. The right amount of floss each morning. The cutting out of the fizzy drinks. And as for those patients who go above and beyond, well nobody is too old for a well done sticker.
Likewise, a dietitian must also see some amazing changes in what they do. All those foods and drinks that you have told people to cut down on, have worked a treat on their weight. They come in happier with lots of stories to tell, reveal that they have specifically stuck to their diet plan that you both have discussed and how you have changed their life. A proud moment indeed for any healthcare professional!
