Weddings can be stressful enough, but when something goes wrong during planning, it can be a nightmare for you and your partner. Wedding invites can often send things spiraling out of control if you make the following mistakes!
Spelling errors
Unfortunately, a lot of people manage to spell things wrong on their wedding invitations. Companies such as Bride and Groom Direct want to make everything perfect for our big day so when a location or a person’s name is spelt wrong on our invites, it can feel like the end of the world. The best way to avoid these mistakes is to double check everything before it goes to print. Get someone else to look over everything before it goes to print. If you are unsure how to spell one of your friend’s names, you should ask them so that it doesn’t look bad. And remember, if it has happened, a lot of people will overlook it so try not to worry too much!
No map
Unless you want people to get lost on the way to your ceremony, you need to make sure you add a map to your wedding invitations. A lot of people forget to do this and then will end up with guests walking in half way through the ceremony. Some of your guests will be coming from other areas and therefore will not know much about the location of the wedding! And if your ceremony and reception venue are at different places, you should inform them the distance between them, and the best way to get there. Make sure you include a note about parking too!
No gift registry
If you don’t give your guests an idea of what you want as a wedding gift, you will end up with plenty of presents you don’t need or want. It can also be stressful for your guests as they may not know what to get you both. It’s a good idea to start a gift list so that you and your new husband can get products that will be useful in your home. If you don’t need anything for your household, suggest giving you both money which you could use for a holiday. Or if you are feeling generous, ask them to donate money to a charity of your choice.
It doesn’t fit your theme
A lot of people make a terrible mistake with their invites by not correctly styling them to their theme. It’s important to make sure everything matches so that it looks polished and beautiful. Spending a fortune
Another mistake people make when they order their wedding invites is that they spend a fortune. As we discuss here, weddings are expensive so you need to work out how much you can spend. People tend to buy too many invites that they don’t need, so remember only to buy one per family or couple. You can always purchase extra if necessary!
