We are moving through Fall and winter will be here in no time. Unlike the residents of Westeros, we won’t have any White Walkers to deal with, but we still have our fair share of winter nasties! We’re talking, of course, about the bugs, colds, and illnesses that seem to spread like wildfire in the winter, and we seem to be more susceptible with every passing year.
Well, make this year the year you say ‘No!’ Make this the year you make changes in your life that are going to prevent you from getting ill. Of course, sometimes it is unavoidable, but a lot of the time there are things that can help you fight against illness and keep yourself in peak physical condition – or as close to peak as possible. Here are some of the great ways you can go about achieving this.
-
Eat Hot Hearty Food
The winter is the perfect time to indulge with hot and hearty food that is going to give you energy and keep you warm. Things like casseroles, stew, and dumplings are the ideal winter foods. You have to make sure you are eating plenty of this food so that you can keep yourself in check, and so that you can build up your strength and immunity in the right sort of way.
-
Keep Your Immune System Up
Keeping your immune system up us also a really important factor in this, and there are a lot of different ways of achieving that. Firstly, you might like to make sure you think about taking vitamins to help build a good immune system over time. It is also important to make sure you are eating well and getting plenty of rest as well. These are some of the most important ways of making sure you keep your immune system as high as you can.
-
Stop Smoking
Smoking is a habit you should definitely be planning on giving up, but if you aren’t then winter is the perfect excuse. It’s cold and bitter outside, and smoking could well result in you having a bad cough or struggling with breathing problems. There are a lot of things that can be done when you look to quit smoking. Consider vaping with stuff like Tiger Blood e-juice, or you might even want to think about going cold turkey to help you with this as much as possible.

Lock the Black Dog Outside
Many of us suffer from depression, and the Black Dog can hit the hardest in the winter months. Depression can make you look and feel older, and send you into a funk over the winter period. It is also really hard to feel good when it’s so perpetually cold and dark all the time. Come up with techniques to help you, surround yourself with good people, and ensure that you are trying to feel good every day.
Winter is a wonderful time of the year for some, but with its short days and long nights it can also be arduous and trying for a lot of people. So, you need to make sure you are at the top of your game this winter, and that you work on how you can stay in shape and prevent yourself from getting ill as much as possible.
