Natural Ways To Give Your Skin an Anti-Aging Boost

Natural Ways To Give Your Skin an Anti-Aging Boost

If you are looking for ways to care for your skin, it can be hard to know what products to choose. There are so many out there on the market. They all claim different things and are full of a variety of  ingredients. There are many ingredients that we can get into our bodies naturally, though. Think of all of the creams that claim to cure fine lines and wrinkles. They all contain something called retinol. But did you know that retinol is just another name for vitamin A? This can be found naturally in what we eat, as long as we are eating the right things. So here are some natural ways to keep your skin looking good, but as naturally as possible.

Carrots and Tomatoes

Both of these are great to have a lot of in your diet. They both contain something called beta carotene. Which when digested, gets converted into vitamin A. So you have a natural anti-wrinkle remedy right there. It works as it helps to build up collagen in your skin, which helps its elasticity. The more ‘elastic’ or bouncy your skin is, the smaller chance you have of getting wrinkles and lines.

Stop Smoking

There is no quicker way to age your skin than to smoke. So if you are looking to improve the look and quality of your skin, that is a great place to start. Smoking damages the elasticity of your skin, making it much more wrinkly than normal. The ingredients in cigarettes are known to cut off the circulation to the capillaries in the skin. Less blood flowing to the skin means that it can’t repair as it should. So look to stop smoking for a simple way to improve how your skin looks and feels.

Use Essential Oils

It has been known for a long time that the right kind of oils can be good for our skin. Having a diet rich in things like avocado oil or olive oil can be great for your skin, as well as your health. But there are many natural benefits from essential oils too. Frankincense, for example, is a great oil to use as a toner for the skin. It tones and tightens pores, as well as helping out with pigmentation on the skin. Melaleuca, or tea tree oil, is great for acne prone skin. It has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. So it helps to clean and clear the skin. Clary sage can help with puffiness of skin and basil oil is great for sensitive skin. So there are all different oils for all different skin types and requirements. You want to look for therapeutic grade oils, though. So make sure you look for the best essential oil brands if you want to buy any. This Ultimate Guide to Essential Oils from our friends at Organic Daily Post may be helpful for you as well.

Drink Plenty of Water

This might sound quite obvious, but drinking lots of water is so important. If you are dehydrated or thirsty, your essential organs get all of the water that is in your body. Your skin isn’t considered as important. So as long as you drink enough, all of your organs will have all the water they need. Your skin will look better and won’t dry out as easily.
