Happiness is hard to come by, would you believe? Of course you would find it hard to believe, because you just know how stressful life can get. We know at the minute you’ll be in the mantra that it’s a new year, therefore it’s a new you. But there will come a time when something goes wrong, and then things just seem to spiral out of control. But do in fact, they spiral out of control? No!! It just takes one thing to go wrong in the new year, and all of the sudden you can’t help but think that everything else in your life is going downhill. But this most definitely isn’t the case, and we think that a lot of finding happiness in life, is going to come from within. So, without even starting this article, we’re going to give you our biggest tip of the day, and that’s to focus on your own mindset. Our minds hold us back so much in life. We believe we can’t do something, so we don’t do it without even trying. We believe we’ll be judged, so we don’t even try. Before we start this article and go into detail about the different areas you can find, take forward with you a different mindset in the new year. The more you open your eyes to the possibilities of life, and the risks you have to take to discover it, the further you’re going to go!
The Little Things
Everyone is always so focused on the bigger picture in life, when in fact it’s the smallest things that matter the most. The smaller things in life are the ones that matter the most, because they’re often the strings controlling the bigger things in life. So, quick tip number one, focus on yourself. In the grand scheme of things, we’re the smallest things in our lives. It’s not often that we think about ourselves, rather the things that go on in our lives. Our work, our family, our relationships… it’s all the things that we put first, whilst thinking that we’re doing it for ourselves. But how often can you say that you’re going to work for yourself? No, you’re going to work to get the money to live your lifestyle. But how often do you live your own lifestyle? Or is it controlled by working, trying to manage a home, and seeming to do all of the things in life that others wish for you to do. So, take some time to focus on you. It is the new year after all, so think about the things you’ve always wanted to do in life, but have put off because you know you have other responsibilities to live by. Since it is the new year, you should definitely write a list. Not of things such as ‘get a new job’… that’s boring and thinking of the grand scheme of things again. You need to be thinking about things like learning a new language, learning how to play an instrument, climbing the highest mountain in the world, travelling to the furthest corners of the world. So you see, it’s the smaller things in life that you’ve never achieved, that will make you the happiest person in the world.
The Big Changes
OK, so now to talk about all of the things that we’ve just been telling you to ignore… because once you’ve accomplished all of the things in life you’ve never done before, it’s definitely time to think about the things controlling your life. Of course, they are the things that you focus on the most. So, first on the list of things that might bring you down, your home! Your home is something you can’t wait to come back to at the end of the day, because it’s just the one thing that you relate to comfort in life. However, it’s also the one biggest source of stress in life. You have the bills, the maintenance, the random things that could go wrong… even lack of space if you feel like you don’t have it. What’s our quick way to find happiness here? MOVE!! This is a risk in itself, but isn’t life all about taking risks? We only think it’s a risk if you don’t think it through properly. Some people are so desperate to get out of their own homes, and into a new one, that they don’t go through the process properly. It’s about saving money first, and putting up with the distress for however long is needed. Because much more stress is going to come if you don’t take your time to have the money behind you. If you have the money and need a quick sale, there are these homebuyers who pay cash, which is a lot more upfront, and it cuts out a lot of the jargon that you will find when trying to sell your home. But always make sure you get a fair price for the time you’re trying to save. But then you need to think about where you’re going to. It HAS to be perfect. It has to tick all of the boxes, not just on the outside. It’s so easy to rush a home buy because it looks perfect on the inside. But you have to take in all sides of the story. The location, estimated costs, your future intentions… it has to have everything you’re missing at the minute!
A final big thing you need to think about, what you wish to get from life. Are you happy with the lifestyle you’re leading, or is there more you desire from the world? Have you always been stuck in a little town, but have envied those who travel? Well, read the millions of travel articles out there, and find a way to spend a few months travelling. All it takes is a leap of faith, and the realization that life will still be there when you get back. There will always be a job to have, especially if you have a trade. Sometimes it’s about dropping it all, and following your dream. Find someone to live in your home and rent it out, quit your job, sell your car, and go and live your dream. If you don’t have the guts to do it this year, the years will only pass you by until you simply don’t have the time to do it at all!
The People You Need In Your Life
OK. Now on to other people, rather than objects. The people you have in your life actually play a massive role in how it turns out. You could have what seem to be the best people in your life, but they could only be dragging you down. It’s not until you take a step back and realize, you actually need people who are pushing you forward, not bringing you back down. And the person who we think is going to do this the most, is your partner. The person who is going to know more about your personal life than any other person would. The person who you could cry, laugh, scream, and feel every single emotion with. If you want to find quick happiness, you have to find love. If you don’t feel happiness from the partner you have at the minute, it’s not love at all. They have to be the one you can go to for anything, and they have to be the one that guides you forward. Because as great as they can be for bringing you up, they’re also great for showing you all your flaws. And although sometimes it might seem like badgering or negative energy, you have to look at the positives. They’re picking out the things you ignore about yourself, and trying to make them better! Focus on love, and the power it can bring to your life, and we promise you will feel happier than you have ever felt before.
The People You Don’t Need In Your Life
So, from the one person you definitely need in your life, to the people you most definitely don’t need in your life. Those are the people we started to talk about in the previous section, and probably the people you rely on the most at the minute. Friends are literally the best thing in the world. They give you a distraction in life that allows you to detach from the real world, but they can often keep you hooked in the same place. If you’re always meeting friends each weekend just to waste a ton of money, they’re not the right friends for you. If you have friends that hardly ever meet you, yet claim to be your best friend, you don’t need them either. You need positive people who are going to show you a new way of life, not keep you living the same life you’ve been living already! Another person we definitely don’t think you need, is a negative boss. If you have a terrible boss that literally makes you hate your life every single second of the day, walk in tomorrow, shove your notice in his face, and strut your stuff out of there with pride!
