Rachel Bilson
Creative Director & Co-Designer
Known for her on screen acting and her off screen signature style, Los Angeles native Rachel Bilson brings her effortless and versatile aesthetic to ShoeMint. Regularly spotted in everything from runway couture to a favorite pair of worn jeans and easy leather jacket, Rachel has earned a place among fashion’s best dressed and more recently, as an emerging designer.
“As a designer, I’m always exploring new mediums and footwear is a category I’ve always been very passionate about, especially since I’m only a size 5. It’s even more exciting to launch a collection online with one of my closest friends and stylist, Nicole Chavez, as well as with an industry leader like Steve Madden. With ShoeMint, I have the opportunity to design not just the shoes, but the full experience for our customers, which feels more personal and rewarding for me.”
ShoeMint marks the next evolution of Rachel as a designer. In 2008, she released her own clothing line, Edie Rose, for DKNY Jeans and a home décor line of the same name is currently in Macy’s.
Nicole Chavez
Style Expert & Co-Designer
One of Hollywood’s premiere stylists, Nicole Chavez is known for her impeccable taste and impressive client list. A recent acknowledgement of “Star Stylist Extraordinaire” at the Hollywood Style Awards, she was also named one of the “Top 10 Superstar Stylists” by Forbes. An inspired visionary, Nicole began her career in the wardrobe department of the Fox Network Series, The O.C., and the trend-setting show became the launch pad for her distinguished success as one of the most sought-after stylists in the business.
Chavez, whose client list includes such celebrities as Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Simpson, Nikki Reed, and Kristen Bell, among others, is ShoeMint’s Style Expert, bringing her red carpet and runway-worthy sensibility to every ShoeMint design. “As a stylist, my clients have such diverse style so my approach is about empowering women to let their style be an extension of who they are. Steve Madden
Shoe Expert
Steve Madden, award-winning designer, brings his fashion footwear expertise to ShoeMint as our resident Shoe Expert. Steve has an innate sense of what’s hot, what’s next, and what’s exciting. His designs are innovative, fun, sometimes wild, and always spot on chic.
In 1990, with just $1,100 in the bank, Madden introduced his chunky platform shoe, which would go on to ignite the Steve Madden shoe phenomenon. His first store opened in SoHo in 1993, and today Steve Madden and his partners operate in over 55 countries around the world. Considered the fashion footwear mogul of the 21st century, Steve Madden has built a global shoe empire.
