I’m a T-shirt girl, and basics are my favorite. My busy life has left me with a uniform: skinny jeans (usually the same pair), mixed with a cute shirt.
Most of my “nice clothes” are Elizabeth and James. I’m a huge fan of Mary-Kate and Ashley’s style, so this brand works perfectly for me. I’ve been coveting a The Row T-shirt (the Olsen sisters’ couture line of basics), even though a friend swears by them, my marriage may not survive a $250 tee.
Last week, I got a treat in the mail from StyleMint, Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen’s line of basic tees. Being a fan of their other lines, I was really excited to try the one which best fits my budget. I had been to the site so I knew that they had videos offering styling ideas for each shirt. I need help in this department; sadly effortless chic isn’t one of my superpowers.
My first reaction was that I loved how soft it was. The colors and length (a little short) were not what I would have chosen for myself, but it was a great opportunity to try out something new. Something new was apparently needed. I walked upstairs in my new shirt and my husband said “Wow, you look cute.” It sounds simple, but it’s a compliment I haven’t received in a while. Needless to say, I love it and wore it to a party later in the day where I got several more compliments.
So happy for the opportunity to try something new, and definitely looking forward to my next StyleMint purchase!
